Q: What is the difference between
CD Maps and Digital Maps ?
|
|
A: CD Maps :
|
- These are prepared
keeping specific industry needs in mind. They enable managers to get a special view of data pertaining to their business,
that produce insights which revolutionize their strategic planning.
- CD maps are for users whose core competency is not GIS,
who simply want fast, easy access to relevant GIS information.
-
Such users don't have the time or desire to learn about topology,
shape files, MapInfo, ARC/INFO, theories of GIS, Geo Databases etc.
-
Such users would like to see the results of spatial analysis and focus on the strategic interpretations arising out of those spatial analyses rather than worry about creating maps, building
themes
etc.
-
These are "bit mapped" raster images in a
.GIF or .JPEG
format.
